Terms of Service
Last updated:
1. Acceptance of Terms
By purchasing, downloading, or using Chwilio (“the Software”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
2. License
Basic and Standard licenses are personal, non-transferable, and limited to the named purchaser. Team licenses are issued per organization and permit seat assignment to employees or contractors of that organization. All licenses are non-exclusive and revocable.
3. Restrictions
You may not:
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or lease the Software to third parties — except under a Team license, which permits seat assignment within your organization.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except as permitted by applicable law.
- Use the Software in any manner that violates applicable laws or regulations.
4. Extension Loading & Security
Chwilio supports loading custom SQLite extensions (native binaries —.dylib on macOS, .dll on Windows). You are solely responsible for the provenance and safety of any extensions you load. On macOS the Software includes a preflight check that tests extension loads in a helper process; on Windows it does not. Either way it is a reliability guard —not a security guarantee. Only load extensions you built yourself or fully trust.
5. Updates & Support
Your license includes updates and email support for one year from the date of purchase. After that period, you may continue using the last version you received indefinitely. This is a one-time purchase, not a subscription: to extend updates and support for another year, you may buy again at a reduced existing-customer price.
6. Intellectual Property
The Software, including its code, design, branding, and documentation, is the exclusive intellectual property of Chwilio. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights.
7. Disclaimer of Warranty
The Software is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.Chwilio does not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all SQLite databases or extensions.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Chwilio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or relating to your use of the Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
9. Refunds
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee. See our refund policy for details.
10. Termination
Chwilio may terminate your license if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use and delete all copies of the Software.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance.
